The term Reiki is derived from the two Japanese symbols (to the right) REI (Spiritual Wisdom) and KI (Life Force Energy). The art of Reiki is likely linked to practices of “laying on of hands” in ancient Tibetan Buddhism, but the Reiki that Grace practices derives from the lineage of Japanese Dr. Mikao Usui, known as Usui Shiki Ryoho.
The basic principle behind Reiki is that the human body is made up of energy – energy that can be attuned, adjusted and directed in order to improve the quality and productivity of life.
Because the Reiki practice deals with the body as energy, not as organs, muscles, bones, circulatory systems, thoughts, feelings or other discrete and transitory elements, it is free to deal with the person on a holistic level. Working holistically, Reiki transcends individual dis-eases, be they physical, emotional or spiritual – but can also have a direct effect on these dis-eases. As the energy that is the body is attuned, the way that this energy is manifesting in the body, mind and spirit is also attuned.
During a Reiki session, you will experience deep relaxation and possibly many other sensations as Grace senses and works with your energy as it flows through the major and minor chakras of the body. Unlike massage or traditional medicine, which are apt to focus on specific problem areas where symptoms occur, Reiki focuses on bringing a balance and re-integration to the entire body. This can help stimulate the body’s natural resources for dealing with maladjustments.
The conditions that Reiki can help to treat, therefore, are quite broad, if not unlimited: ankle sprains through to anxiety. Reiki is not a replacement for traditional medicine, but it can be a good compliment to it, helping to keep the body in balance during chemotherapy or other treatments, for example. Reiki can also be used on anything with a life force, such as animals and plants.
Grace also trains others to practice First Degree / Level 1, Second Degree / Level 2, and Third Degree / Reiki Master Teaching Level. Visit her training page to learn about her offerings.

Crystal Healing
Grace has been trained in the use of crystals for healing. Specific crystals and/or gemstones are laid on the various chakras to restore stability and balance to the body’s energy systems.
Each gemstone or crystal has a specific resonance to bring healing and/or relief to specific ailments.
